National CASA has selected several agencies to participate in a joint initiative with the University of South Carolina to analyze volunteer retention. The partnership requires those selected agencies to collect and provide specific data to the University of South Carolina. The steps to gather that data is outlined below. Your due date is Friday, January 25, 2019, so if you have not yet pulled that data, this is for you!
1. Go to Reports
2. Go to Quick Counts
3. Set your date range to Start Date: 1/1/2016 and your End Date to 12/31/2018 (or whatever your data range needs to be; I used the last 2 calendar years).
4. Set counts
5. Once the counts return the data, go to the very bottom to Volunteer Advocate Counts and click on the number in the field “# Active”.
6. Then select, “Go to List View”, then select “Export”.
7. From the Available Fields on the left, select “# Kids Current, # Kids Prior, and Yrs w/Agency” along with any other fields you want to include, then export that data. The volunteers’ names, email address, advocate status, and codes are already on the report, so you don’t need to add them. (You can add the date 1st sworn, date 1st took a case, date completed training, and anything else from that list that might be useful).
The list of steps seems long, but this actually took me 3 minutes to run the report, including adding the other fields and exporting it. You can also save it to download later.
