We have been receiving a high number of requests to provide an explanation of staff privileges described in the staff module, so this would be a great opportunity to provide that to all users.

Staff:
Add, Edit, Delete all records (except staff records or case records not linked to the supervisor of record). Limited to changing statistical data only on records for which they are the supervisor.

Staff should be:
Case Supervisors, Program Assistants, Clerical Support, and Office Managers.

Administrator: (each office should have two)
Add, Edit, Delete all records (except staff records)
Can edit pop-down lists, unlock locked records, manage user accounts, and reset passwords.

Administrators should be:
Senior or Lead Case Supervisors, Program Managers, Volunteer Services Managers, and other mid-level staff.
*You should have at least two Administrators, but for a large agency with 30+ staff users, you may want to increase that number to four.

Confidential:
Add, Edit, Delete records in the staff file only.
Can create staff reports and view confidential staff data (DOB, SSN, Salary).

Confidential should be:
Human Resources Director, Program Director, Associate Director, Executive Director

Admin/Confidential:
Combination of Administrator and Confidential privileges: Add, Edit, Delete all records. Can edit pop-down lists, unlock locked records, manage user accounts, reset passwords, create staff reports, and view confidential staff data (DOB, SSN, Salary).

*Admin/Confidential should be limited to executive staff.

Staff/Confidential:
Combination of Staff and Confidential privileges: 
Add, Edit, Delete all records. Can create staff reports and view confidential staff data (DOB, SSN, Salary).

If your program staff needs a higher level of privilege than just “Staff Only”, they would need this privilege. Note that Staff/Confidential allows those with the privilege to view confidential staff data.
